Fibroids are benign (non-cancerous) tumours (growths) in the uterus (womb).
Symptoms / Signs may include:

No symptoms if fibroids are few and/or small

Heavy periods

Aching/ discomfort in lower abdomen/pelvis

Back pain

Frequent urination
-
Constipation

Treatment of symptomatic fibroids: hysterectomy is a commonly needed – an operation to remove the uterus (womb) with the fibroids
When fertility is desired myomectomy is an option – removing only the fibroids from the uterus (womb)
